Gifts of Healings

Corinthians 12:7 But the
manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit
of all
8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to
another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts
of healings by the same Spirit,
10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to
another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of
tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues..
Please notice that these are named in the plural. The "gifts of healings". Often certain people are used more often with one kind of healing than with another. Just happens that way. There are different healings for different gifts of healings. Some people are sued more in cancer healings, others in spinal problems and others in various kinds of other diseases and sickness. See Philip's crusade in Samaria in Acts chapter eight.
Then
Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to
them.
6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by
Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many
who were possessed; and many who were paralysed and lame were
healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
It would appear that lame people and paralysed were especially healed there in Samaria through the hands of Philip. And of course the demon possessed deliverance's.
Many Kinds of Healing
Now healing comes by the word as well as by the gifts of the Spirit. SO healing for the church is by the word and by the "Prayer of Faith"....not just through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These are often reserved for crusades; outreaches and places where the word has not yet reached.
In church we are asked to call the elders....
James
5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call
for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will
raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
This is the believers normal way of receiving their healing. So where the gifts often are allowed to operate is where there is a lack of knowledge...ignorance or perhaps the word has not yet reached them as in Samaria. These gifts then show the people where the power of God is at. It shows God's hand in the preaching of His word.
God's Mercy for the Dying
It is the mercy of God that shows the people that He is real by he gifts of the Spirit. Where perhaps they can't even read and write He will still show Himself strong on their behalf. Demonstrating Himself so that all can see Him, or rather His fruit. Then it is up to them what they want to choose.
The Technique
Different catalysts are used by the Holy Spirit to effect His miracles on the people or for the people. Jesus spat on his hands and put spittle in their mouths to release their tongues from being dumb. He also did similar into the eyes of the blind. But then often He used His hands to touch them. Or His words healed them.
Peter's shadow healed people as he walked down the street. Paul was led to use handkerchiefs or aprons.
Or course it was not the implement that healed but the anointing coming out of the person that housed itself in the implement used.
Often differently in each place; time or person. So then there is a variety of things that can be used in this way. Only the Holy Spirit using the believer remains the constant issue.
The Anointing to Heal
Luke 5:17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
The power to heal was present....is the anointing. The anointing is the power of God manifesting in the natural aspects in a tangible and real way. No need for faith when this power is manifesting. Unbelief can block it as with Peter walking on the water. But when manifesting it has it's own will. When it is given permission to operate by man.
The Gifts of Healings Operate Through Men
These gifts do not operate by themselves but operate through the house or body of a man. Someone anointed to operate this way. All believers have the nature of God within them but the anointing to operate the spiritual gifts is given to all believers but..the Holy Spirit does them as He wills.
The Holy Spirit does not operate His gifts separately from men. But through men. Using hands; mouths words and things attached to the man to transmit his power through.
Different people operate these in a different way and it is up to us all to find the way that they operate through you. This is the legitimate use of spiritual power to do good with.
