A Discerning of Spirits

Corinthians 12:7 But the
manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit
of all
8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to
another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of
healings
by the same Spirit,
10 to another the working of miracles, to
another prophecy, to another discerning
of spirits, to another different kinds of
tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues..
Different Spirits
There are different types of spirits. Obviously angels and demons. But inside these there are different levels of spirits and then again different types within these levels. Like there are people in the world with different personality.
This gift enables the us to see the different spirits and what is requied for their proper correction.
Discerning the different types of spirits enables us to act accordingly. It is especially useful in deliverance. But also of course in the new proclaiming of the gospel in new areas with different ruling and reigning spirits in that area.
You Need to Know the Spirits Prevailing in Order to Act Accordingly
Michael and Gabriel the angels of God work against the prevailing spirits of this age as they did in previous times
Daniel 10:20 Then he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.
These angels were doing this in the Old Testament and now we and them work together on this in the New Testament. Jesus opened up the spirit realm for us to legitimately get involved.
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places .
Familiar Spirits
Leviticus 20:6 ‘And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.
These are a specific type of spirit normally used in fortune-telling and the like. Outlawed by God in the old testament laws.
They are "familiar" because they are familiar with the families of people. They get to know information that they should not be able to access.
So that is sceances and the like they immitate the dead relatives that have passed away and feed thier relatives lies and assurances that are false.
Unclean Spirits
Luke 6:18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed.
These are so called because they are unholy. The oppositie of the "Holy " Spirit who is God.
Evil Spirits
Acts 19:12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.
Evil is the opposite of good. God's spirits are good, angelic. And the devil's spirits are evil. .
Seducing spirits
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
The devil is called the deceiver. Because he always mis represents the truth and so lies and is the father of lies.
2Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Test the Spirits
1John
4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit,
but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false
prophets have gone out into the world.
2 John 1:7 For many
deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus
Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an
antichrist.
So then this gift of the Holy Spirit is the one who sees what spirit it is that is operating.
